The California Education Learning Lab is established within the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research. The goal of the Learning Lab is to increase learning outcomes and close equity and achievement gaps within college-level lower division courses.
The Learning Lab will be able to receive non-state funds and award funds to design teams focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and other disciplines. By 2020, the Learning Lab will also award funds for professional development to faculty who adopt a course(s) developed by the Lab. The Lab will also developing a learning science library of online and hybrid courses.
This investment could be used to develop and incubate new courses for the CCC Online College, Adult Education Programs, Strong Workforce and Strong Workforce K12 and more.
