FYSI builds an infrastructure for supporting a target population: foster youth in California Community Colleges. Initiative participants could benefit from engagement in sector-based pathways established under Career Advancement Academies, Strong Workforce Grants, and other initiatives that develop course sequences coupled with innovative instructional practices and work-based learning. Having the participant population identifiable in community college data could allow for further targeted services under a college’s Student Equity Plan.
