This initiative could benefit from incorporating intentional participant supports—individualized and differentiated to provide access and promote success for people with varying academic abilities and work experiences, and prior or unfinished credentials. Supports could be integrated through partnership with Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title I programs for career services, and CalWORKs or other human services programs for case management or related support services.

Partnering with adult education pre-apprenticeship programs operating under WIOA Title II and/or the Adult Education Program (AEP) could help adults gain basic skills needed to enter and succeed in these apprenticeships.
