Basic Skills Partnership Pilot Program

Updated November 2018

This postsecondary education initiative of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) coordinates the efforts of school districts, California Community Colleges (CCCs), and California State Universities (CSUs) to provide basic skills instruction in efficient and effective ways. The initiative seeks to align remediation instruction and services between the CCC and CSU systems to better meet student needs, and leverage resources between the two public higher education systems.

Initiative funding totals $10 million, awarded as $2 million grants made to five community college districts through a competitive process run by the CCCCO. $1 million is awarded upon selection, with another $1 million awarded after a demonstration of effectiveness.
