California Dream Act

This financial aid initiative of the California Student Aid Commission allows undocumented and nonresident documented students to apply for and receive:

  • Institutional scholarships such as the University of California Grant, State University Grant, and Educational Opportunity Program funds
  • California Community Colleges Board of Governors Fee Waivers 
  • State financial aid including Cal Grants and the California Chafee Grant for Foster Youth for use at qualifying public and private institutions

California Dream Aid can be accessed by students who meet the requirements of AB540, exempting them from paying non-resident tuition.
