Animal Shelter of Sullivan County Inc.
The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “increase awareness in Sullivan County about the humane treatment of animals through responsible sheltering, education, spay/neuter assistance, and access to wellness.” As a no-kill shelter, they ensure that every animal that walks through their door has the opportunity to find their forever home.
Niswonger Children’s Hospital
As the only children’s hospital in the region, Niswonger Children’s Hospital offers state-of-the-art medical care in a family-centered environment. Niswonger Children’s Hospital provides the region’s only pediatric oncology and hematology program, serving more than 300 children with cancer and blood disorders, and is home to one of nine St. Jude Affiliate Clinics in the nation. The children’s hospital also offers more than 20 pediatric subspecialties. Niswonger understands that the children and teens they serve are the future of this region. They work every day to be the place that makes kites fly, to help and heal the young people of this region – and, ultimately, to make hope rise. Donations from Signature Properties will be used to provide special equipment to lessen the trauma of MRI’s on these young patients.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee
Since 1986, Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee has been leading the effort to end hunger in the region. Serving Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington Counties, the organization works tirelessly to end hunger and provide food assistance to those in need. Donations from Signature Properties will be designated to provide food for the “Backpack” project whereby needy children are given food to take home for the weekends during the school year.
Isaiah 117 is a non-profit organization that offers a safe, comforting home for children who have been removed from their homes and are awaiting placement. The organization is staffed by friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, toys, and snuggly blankets to the children, helping to ease their fears and loneliness during this difficult time. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need, while child welfare staff can focus on completing the necessary paperwork and identifying a suitable foster home/family.
VA at Mountain Home
The VA at Mountain Home is a government agency that provides benefits, services, and programs to veterans, their families, and survivors. These benefits include healthcare, disability compensation, pensions, education and training, home loans, and life insurance. The VA also operates national cemeteries and provides burial and memorial benefits. The mission of the VA is to serve veterans by providing the quality care and benefits they have earned through their service to our country. The donations from Signature Properties will provide recreational therapy equipment not funded by the V.A.
